CNFC, CFC, LADY CARAMEL

This past Thanksgiving weekend Caramel and I competed in the 45th Canadian National Spaniel Field trial held locally in Burwash Ontario, 1/2 hr South of Sudbury. It is a competion of all the best dogs from across Canada and the USA. This year there were 76 entrants many of which are professionally trained and professionally handled dogs. The event ran over the course of 4 days in record breaking high temperatures. Caramel ran her best ever and did so flawlessly and with tons of drive in spite of the heat. She was attacking the heaviest cover, pinning all her retrieves, covering the course, and finding birds with little wind. I was relieved to successfully complete the 5 land series and one water test as only 16 dogs finished the trial. I will have to tell you that when they announced her as the first place dog my entire body went numb. It was a dream I had not even dared to dream.
